I was 8 and I remember the first time I held a crochet hook and the yarn was red,white and green variegated. I was taught by my mom to make a chain. However that is where it stopped. For months I made chain ropes for everything even for a faux beaded curtain for my door. Then when I was 17 and pregnant with my second son I decided I wanted to make a blanket for him. (For my oldest i just sewed together a picture fabric and added a fancy edging from lace.) My mother in law at the time taught me how to go back the other direction from a chain and soon enough there was a basic double crochet striped blanket for him. Then came a beautiful outfit for a doll and that was given to walmart for a raffle for the childrens hospital. Then life happened. LOL. Two boys and two jobs put that fun hook away for a while. Okay a long while. Now the last three years has been nothing but hooking. Hats, scarves, baby blankets...oh my. I have enjoyed making things and watching ordinary yarn become something beautiful and useful.
My goal with this blog is not only to show my works but find great patterns to share with everyone. Right now I have approximately 16 WIPs and always looking for more. (:
So with that I am off to work on what else but my crochet projects. LOL Here are two on my hooks right now...
